Fabric Guide & Care

Our Fabrics.

At Squeeze our Garments will only ever be made out of 100% Silk and 100% Cotton. Material is at the core of our garments, the fabrics we wear daily touch our skin, shape our experiences and hold memories.

We believe in clothing that feels as good on your body. That’s why we use only 100% natural fibered fabrics, silk and cotton. These fabrics are not only incredibly soft and breathable, but also completely biodegradable. These fibers act like a second skin, offering year-round comfort and effortless versatility while minimizing environmental impact. By choosing silk and cotton, we ensure every piece we create is both luxurious and responsible. Naturally returning to the earth at the end of its life, just as nature intended.

Squeeze works closely with local New Zealand fabric wholesalers to source premium silk and cotton, including deadstock materials (unused fabrics that designers no longer need). By rescuing these textiles from going to waste, we create thoughtfully limited collections, which we call Phases. Released four times a year, each Phase is a reflection of our commitment to producing clothing with care for you and Mother Nature.

Looking after your Silk.

Silk is a delicate fabric that requires special care to maintain its beauty and longevity. For optimal results, dry cleaning is recommended.

However, if washing at home, gently hand wash the silk using a mild detergent and avoid wringing or twisting the fabric. After washing, lay the garment flat to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight. Never machine wash silk, as it can cause irreversible damage.

When ironing is needed, use a steamer or place a cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent scorching or shine. With the right care, your silk item will remain elegant and luxurious for years to come.

About our Cotton.

Cotton Poplin is a lightweight tightly woven fabric that has a smooth texture and that cotton crisp feeling. It is a breathable soft material that has a balance between structure and comfort.

100% Cotton poplin is used for the striped set style set (24/7 pants and the blouse). The material is deadstock ex designer cotton sourced from our local New Zealand factories.

Looking after your Cotton.

For best care of your Cotton Garments, gently wash your garment in cold water, either by hand or on a delicate machine cycle with similar colours in a laundry bag.

After washing, lay flat to dry in the shade to preserve the shape and colour. Do not tumble dry, as heat can damage the fabric. If ironing is needed, use a low heat setting to avoid scorching.
